SAFTEY CRITICAL COMMUNICATION (SCC)

SCC plays a crucial role in various safety critical positions within the railway industry. By undertaking this training, candidates will acquire the necessary skills to structure and deliver information effectively, promoting understanding and maintaining a safe working environment.
The course focuses on the effective conveyance of vital safety-related information to ensure the well-being and safety of railway workers. This training equips candidates with essential knowledge on how to communicate safety critical information in a safe and efficient manner.

While this training is primarily designed for front line railway staff, it is open to anyone who wishes to enhance their understanding of safety critical communication.

Candidates will receive a Certificate of Competence, acknowledging their proficiency in safety critical communication. The SCC competence certification remains valid for a period of two years.

FIRST AID AT WORK FOR RAILWAYS

Railways can be extremely dangerous places to work in. They can also be remote and sometimes inaccessible for emergency services. During this extended 3-day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of outdoor first aid situations. This course will help delegates manage dangerous situations in remote locations.
The Qualsafe Level 3 First Aid at Work course (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification. The course has been designed for railway personnel, specifically for those who work on the railways and who require the knowledge and skills to be able to deal with an emergency.s and employees, as well as what actions should be taken to comply with legal requirements.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The First Response Emergency Care syllabus includes:
first aid equipment, prioritising treatment, electrocution, arc eye, dealing with an unresponsive casualty, fractures & spinal injuries, choking, head injuries, poisoning, abdominal injuries, burns & scalds, diabetes, hypothermia, heat exhaustion, bandaging

In order to successfully complete the course and gain the Qual Safe relevant certificate, delegates must pass 7 practical assessments and 2 invigilated assessment papers.

Successful learners will receive a personalised Qual Safe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) e-Certificate immediately after their results have been submitted.

NEEDLES & SHARPS (RAILWAY SPECIFIC) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CALL OF THE WILD

This railway specific Needles and Sharps training course teaches those working in an environment with the potential to come across needles and sharps, how to identify and dispose of them safely to reduce the likelihood of injury. It outlines risks associated with sharps use, as well as what practices should be avoided and actions that should be taken in the event of an accident.

On completion of the course, all delegates will be awarded a training certificate with an expiry date of 3 years.
